Project of Society Nature Park Sacar is among the approved one for funding in the third edition of “You and Lidl for a better life”
The project “You and Lidl for a better life of the Lesser Kestrel" of the Society Nature Park Sacar is among the forth finalists in the thematic field “Environment” of the biggest social significant initiative “You and Lidl for a better life“. Within the frame of the third edition of the initiative of Lidl Bulgaria funding are going to receive total 22 projects of the civil organizations within 25 dwelling places.
The approved projects for funding were introduced and awarded at the official ceremony on 29th November, 2019 in Sofia there was as a special guest, Mr. Tomislav Donchev, Deputy Prime Minister and a Chairman of Civil Society Development Committee in the Cabinet of Bulgaria. 15 of these social important projects are going to be fulfilled in the field of culture and education and 7 projects are going to be funded in the environmental field and the active way of life
„You and Lidl for a better life” has been defined as the biggest grand program in the private sector as a private corporative donor, there is a partnership with Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation and the Bulgarian donation forum.
The project “You and Lidl for a better life of the Lesser Kestrel”, the Society Nature Park Sacar aims to help the process to increase the number of the of rare kestrel and their distribution in new territories within the protected area of Sacar - BG0002021 part of the environmental network NATURA 2000. In the project were included direct nature conservation activities such as placing artificial bird-nests for rare kestrels and bird watching of the protected birds in the area of village Levka. We have planned also some informational activities related to the local people, lectures, students and parents.
The Society reminds that few years ago the nesting of this bird was reintroduced in village Levka. It was known that this bird did not breed in the country for many years. But these species returned in 2004 via Green Balkans project as per program LIFE to EC. Nature Park Sakar was a closed partner in the process and helped to fulfill a series of successful activities.
