Society Nature Park Sakar conducted an educational training with students from Svilengrad. On 24th September, 2020, the team from Society Nature Park Sakar together with Historical Museum Svilengrad conducted an educational training on how to recognize the lesser kestrel together with students from the local clubs “Young Nature Researchers “ and “Green Patrols” from high-school “Dr. Peter Beron” as well some teachers and students from Primary school “Hristo Popmarkov” in the museum yard. The society team told the students more about the lesser kestrel’s origin, its habitats, the location of the nest-boxes as well as about Sakar region.

Thank to the life size bird models of the Lesser kestrel, the students could learn how to differentiate the bird species in nature. As a result they would be able to provide some extra data about the bird species apart from the famous colony in Levka.

Society Nature Park Sakar initiates a project „You and Lidl for a better life of the lesser kestrel” in order to take care of the bird species and its conservation. The project is fulfilled thank to the biggest socio- reponsible initiative of Lidl Bulgaria „You and Lidl for a better life“, in a partnership with Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation and Bulgarian Donation Forum.
