NATURA 2000 FESTIVAL
Society "Nature Park Sakar" and Turkish NGO "DAYKO" on 17.3.2018 organized NATURA 2000 Fesival. The event was held in the village Çukurpınar located in the Turkish Strandja Mountain.
During the event, there was a huge interest from representatives of the local government, local residents, guests at the festival and young environmentalists from the Turkish organization “Back to Nature”. The project team introduced the guests to the festival with the rich biodiversity of the Strandja Mountain in Bulgaria and Turkey, as well as the need for its protection. Also, the guests at the festival had the opportunity to get acquainted with two of the conservation species: Lesser Kestrel and Black Vulture, through real-size and colorful models. Information and promotion materials were distributed, prepared in the framework of a project “Preparation and promotion of the process of development of European ecological network NATURA2000 in Istranca Mountain CB005.1.12.135 – Interreg IPA CBC Bulgaria - Turkey Programme 2014-2020 of the European Union.
We are happy that we met so many people willing to preserve the natural richness of both countries.
